Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a question that isn’t here, please email me. There’s no question too small, and I read every message myself.

What does “instant download” mean?

As soon as your order goes through, you’ll get an email with a link to your file — usually within a minute or two. Nothing is mailed to you, and there’s nothing to wait for. The link stays available in that email, so you can come back and download it again later if you need to.

What will I actually receive?

A PDF file. You can open it on a computer, a phone, or a tablet, and print it as many times as you like for your own use. If you fill a page and want another, just print another.

What does “US Letter” mean?

It’s the standard paper size in the United States — 8.5 by 11 inches, the same paper that’s already in most home printers and at any print shop. You don’t need to buy anything special.

Can I take it to a print shop instead of printing at home?

Yes, and for the longer books I’d honestly recommend it. Staples, Office Depot, FedEx Office, or any local print shop can print and bind it for you — ask for US Letter, single-sided, and spiral or comb binding if you want it to lie flat while you write. Bring the PDF on a USB drive or email it to them.

Do you sell printed copies?

Not yet — everything in the shop right now is a digital download. Printed and shipped copies of the longer books are coming in a few months. If you’d like to know when, join the email list and I’ll let you know as soon as they’re ready.

Do you ship anything?

Not at the moment. Every product is delivered by email as a file, so there’s no shipping and no waiting, wherever you are.

Can I write in it on my tablet or phone?

You can. Open the PDF in an app that lets you write or annotate — Notability, GoodNotes, or Adobe Acrobat all work. The pages aren’t fillable form fields, so you’ll be writing on top of them the same way you would on paper.

My file won’t open or download. What do I do?

First, check your spam or promotions folder — the download email sometimes lands there. If it still isn’t working, email me and tell me what happened. I’ll send the file to you directly. You will never be left without something you paid for; just reach out and I’ll fix it.

Can I return it or get a refund?

Because the file is delivered instantly and can’t be given back, all digital downloads are final sale and refunds aren’t available. I know that’s not what anyone wants to read, so I want to be clear about it before you buy rather than after. If something goes wrong with your file — it won’t open, it won’t print, you got the wrong one — email me. That isn’t a refund question, it’s a fixing-it question, and I’ll always fix it.

Can I buy this as a gift for someone?

Yes, and a lot of people do. You’ll receive the download yourself, so you can print it, wrap it, and give it in person — or forward the file to them if that’s easier. If you’d like help choosing something for someone you love, email me and tell me a little about them.

Can I share it with a friend, or use it with a support group?

These are for your own personal use, so please don’t resell or pass the file around. But if you lead a support group, work in a hospital or a hospice, or want to use something here in your professional work, please email me — I would love that, and we can work something out.

Do you have anything in Spanish?

Not yet, but soon. Spanish versions are coming, and they matter to me. Join the email list and you’ll hear when they’re ready.

How do I reach you?

Email me any time. I read every message myself, and I don’t mind at all if the question feels small.
